deeB Dials Us Down Tempo with Evening Island EP

My introduction to EDM went something like this: a friend popped a pair of headphones in my ears and Tiesto‘s INZ INZ INZ hit me like an 808. Done. I was addicted.

Since then EDM has become my life pulse, literally my heart rate. I don’t Red Bull or Rockstar, no coffee (okay, that’s a lie), because nothing makes me feel more alive (sorry Krewella to steal lyrics!) than electro house, unicorn slayer trance, heavy tech or hard drum n bass. It’s like my energy level is the volume dial on my stereo and EDM turns me up.

But unlike Lil’ Jon, I need some turn down time, and thankfully EDM has many channels to dial in to. As much as pounding electro can raises my heart rate, the cooler tones of ambient soothe the soul and take you from the sweat and flying elbows of the dancefloor to the feel of your toes in the sand.

deeB’s newest EP “Evening Island” does exactly that. Featuring all instrumental tracks, deeB continues to produce ambient, jazz influenced beats that take you straight into nature, and his triphop taste gives his music a more organic feel.

Due to his EP from last April (2013), “Thru Nature,” I expected bird calls to slip into the beats. “Evening Island” will wash you out to sea as slow as the moonlit tide.

Based in the Netherlands (no surprise!), deeB teams with Phonophonatic, my go-to for chillout lounge tunes.

So slow down for summer – take a break from big room house between festival raging and go back to nature.
