It's not often I press play on a single and instantly feel like I'm in the crowd at a large music festival. But, that was the exact vibe I felt when first listening to 'Everything' ft. KLA. The track is the result of a collaborative effort between established artist, Clips X Ahoy, and newcomer, Egzod.
Egzod on how he connected with Clips X Ahoy:
“...I was familiar with Clips' music even when I was still in France. We first connected on Twitter and we both liked each other's work. He sent me that WIP with these beautiful vocals and I directly felt inspired so I brought my own touch and finished it. We are pretty happy with the result."
The song begins with tribal drum beat with Eastern-influenced melodies. The soulful, sensual, female vocals are reminiscent of the Great Gatsby soundtrack. The energy builds up before the drop. It feels dark, dirty, and dangerous, so much so that I want to get down with my eyes closed and dance with a vibing crowd around me. The song is relatively dynamic as well, excellent for cueing in future mixes. Give it a listen:
Clips, has played festivals such as Middlelands, Nocturnal Wonderland and EDC Orlando, and has been extremely successful releasing tracks on top record labels such as Insomniac Records and Ultra Music. While the producer's singles are getting tens of thousands of plays on SoundCloud, the artist has also produced remixes for artists such as Diplo, Wiz Khalifa and even Zhu.
Egzod, the up and coming French producer and soccer enthusiast, decided to move to Miami, looking to collaborate with local artists. Already in the scene, he performed at EDC Orlando, was recently featured on BBC Radio 1, and has had support from artists such as Martin Garrix, Krewella, Feed Me, Madeon, Pegboard Nerds, Borgeous, Borgore, and Matoma to name a few.
