OTB’s EDX Greatest Hits
House music renegade, EDX, has been on a bender fueled by sexy dance rhythms and infectious basslines since his introduction to dance music. The Swiss-based producer has shown immense growth in his sound over the past couple of years with his signature style consisting of slick basslines and old-school house rhythms. Despite the recent deep house fad, EDX has been producing deeper dance floor beats for some time now, which has put him at the forefront of the contemporary curve.
With enormous plans for 2015 already in the works, fans can expect to see big things from EDX in the coming months. His latest remix of Nora En Pure’s “Uruguay” currently sits at the top of Beatport at #2 while his debut original of the year, “Remember House,” is due out March 2nd via Enormous Tunes. For fans wanting to see EDX live, he is gearing up for a slew of shows all over the world including a highly-anticipated showing in Miami at Ultra Music Festival. To illustrate EDX’s prevailing leadership, we have compiled our list of EDX’s greatest hits that showcase his superior musical tendencies.
1. EDX – Reckless Ardor
When you receive the stamp of approval from Pete Tong on various occasions, you must be doing something right. One of EDX’s first big singles, “Reckless Ardor,” gave fans an early insight into EDX’s natural affinity for deeper grooves. The original elegantly blends emotional vocal cuts with airy basslines to truly reveal the producer’s skill in the studio.
2. Avicii – Wake Me Up (EDX Radio Mix)
When EDX first unveiled his remix of Avicii’s record-breaking single, “Wake Me Up,” EDX’s fan base that enjoys his harder music was ecstatic. It is so easy to fall in love with the anthemic remix as the Swiss talent demonstrates his competence in multiple dance music genres. His remix of “Wake Me Up” became a big room staple for its pulsing drop and spine-tingling kick pounds that rocked festival crowds upon its release.
3. Calippo – Back There (EDX Remix)
Released in early 2014, EDX’s remix of Calippo’s “Back There” oddly resembles the recent exploding genre of future house. This remix had to be considered one of EDX’s greatest hits for its jumpstart on the current future house fad that EDX had his hand in before it was “cool.”
4. EDX – Cool You Off
Next, EDX’s heart-wrenching single, “Cool You Off,” crushed charts when it was released last year and is a testament to his distinctive sound. Fusing elements of his classic progressive sound with deep house, “Cool You Off” provides a refreshing dance floor heater that provides a perfect fit for any situation.
5. EDX – Breathin’
“Breathin’” is undeniably one of EDX’s greatest works to date. He sends a cool rush of calming synths and velvety bass tremors to put listeners’ minds at ease with this 2014 jam. EDX’s versatility truly shines in this deep house original and rose to the top of Beatport’s Deep House charts for obvious reasons.
Honorable Mention: EDX – Remember House
Although not officially released yet, EDX’s first original of 2015, “Remember House,” was teased a couple weeks ago via SoundCloud and Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show. It is sure to be a fan favorite when fully released on March 2nd.
