Porter Robinson -“Years of War” (Golden Features Remix)

The art of remixing is a tough art to master. One could argue all you have to do is mess with a few filters here, add a drop there, and TA-DA! Remix. But that is not the case. A truly astounding remix takes what makes the original great and add their own twist, without taking too much away. It is an act of balance and when carried out appropriately you get a track such as this. On Porter Robinson’s Worlds, “Years of War” is a standout track. The songs message is a powerful one and  the lyrics are hauntingly delivered by Breanne Duren & Sean Caskey. Their voices are a driving source in the original and an important factor to a successful remix.

Such a song deserves an excellent remix. Nothing less than Golden Features remix will do. The Australian producer adds his own dark, encompassing, sound that draws listeners in and completely changes the direction of the original. Creative and unique, this remix is done right.
