Belgian drum & bass master Netsky
has partnered with Digital Farm Animals to bring listeners a brand new single from his
forthcoming album. "Rio" is much chiller in tempo than we're used to from Netsky, but his skill for bringing together genre-spanning sounds into one beautiful composition still shines through.
The single debuted on Annie Mac's BBC 1 podcast, which is known for being one of the most highly-regarded podcasts for connecting fans with new music from talented producers. Netsky was in no rush on this track. "Rio" takes it's time getting to the places it needs to go. It is however, not without that uplifiting and down-right groovy drum and bass-y goodness fans eagerly await. Digital Farm Animals' vocals really encapsulate that easygoing and wistful ambulation that the main groove lays down.
"Rio" is both funky and fresh, well worth repeated listening.
While the date for his album hasn't been released yet, it will be out on Sony records, later this year. As the lyrics say, "Nothing lasts foreever." And this wait won't either. Until then sit back and dig the joy that Netsky hath wrought.
