Mat Zo’s Remix of Porter Robinson’s Flicker Is Pure Fire

British producer Mat Zo is known for his ability to transcend genres and definition with his killer technique. This time, he’s gone all in on Porter Robinson‘s “Flicker”. Hands down one of the best remixes in 2015, Porter Robinson gave us a glimpse of Zo’s work in his Monstercat set. In the aftermath of dropping this most excellent track, hungry audiophiles swarmed for more. Mat Zo answered the call with the full track release on his fabriclive promo mix.

Zo’s remix is pure insanity from start to finish. What starts off slow and steady evolves into pure unrelenting genius in less than a minute. Once it really gets going, it refuses to stop, setting the precedent for the mix as a whole. Not one to rely on one sound during a track, Zo’s deftly maneuvers in and out of the soft sound Porter created, filling the interim with harsh and fast-paced intensity that pushes listeners up and over each peak and drop. It is obvious after one listener why Porter himself was so excited to share this with fans.
