Now ft. Rye Rye: New Vibe, Same Bassnectar

This past week, renowned bass god Lorin Ashton released a new single, ‘Now’ featuring female rapper Rye Rye. With the anticipation of Bassnectar’s Paradiso performance rising in the Northwest, fans are beginning to speculate exactly what kind of set to expect from the dubstep legend. Having announced an album release date of June 24th, just days before Washington’s biggest electronic music festival, Bassnectar will be drawing from a repertoire of 15 never heard before tracks that draw from a range of musical styles and influences.

Bassnectar- Now ft. Rye Rye

The track starts with the inanely catchy build up that we typically associate with Bassnectar’s dubby sound. But as the track progresses, the bass explodes and we are introduced to more hip-hop vibe, accompanied by strong female vocals. The track is definitely something a little different, with trap-influences, high-hats and 808 beats galore. When hearing this song for the first time, I couldn’t help but feel the music, and a frenzy of booty-shaking dance moves quickly ensued. I personally cannot wait to hear what new music we’ll soon be hearing from ‘Nectar, and I have a feeling they’ll all be surefire summertime bangers.

Check out this track and let us at OTB know what you think of it!
