Didrick Blows Our Mind with his Owsla Mashup Video

Ever heard of Didrick? He released a little song around 3 weeks ago called “A Part of You,” which absolutely blew up. This Madeon-esque single immediately shot the 19-year-old Swede into the international spotlight. Over the last few weeks, he’s even received praise from Hardwell and Skrillex.

Didrick – “A Part of You”

As if this career altering single wasn’t enough, Didrick just released an unbelievably impressive 43-song LIVE mashup. Sampling the likes of The M Machine, Showtek, Dillon Francis, Seven Lions, Sub Focus, Porter Robinson, Zedd, and Alvin Risk (to name just a few…), this 3 minute and 11 second video depicts exactly what live electronic music SHOULD look like. Launchpads, Drums, Violins, Pianos, and even a Cello make appearances in this high octane video. The live instrumentation combined with the rapid-fire triggering of samples is EXACTLY what I’d love to see implemented by DJ’s around the globe.

After dropping $60 to see Avicii, I’d much rather see some unpredictable button mashing accompanied by some sort of live instrumentation than flawless mixing (which I can roughly recreate in my bedroom via Traktor).

Anyways, rant aside, this video is awesome. After opening for Avicii at Ushuaia in Ibiza last summer, Didrick is set to take the Summer of 2014 by storm.
