Trance Thursdays 003

Welcome back to Trance Thursdays! This first track is from New York’s Mike Saint-Jules. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Mike on several occasions both in NYC and Miami, and he’s an earnest, talented producer and person. Very happy to see he’s getting the recognition he deserves!

One of my favorite Tiesto tracks. Take a journey with me.

I’m f***in in LOVE Kyau & Albert’s style of Trance. It’s hard-hitting, jumpy, aggressive, yet incredibly uplifting and melodic depending on where you’re at in the track. My favorite part is the vocal sampling you hear around three minutes in.

For this edition’s liveset, the choice was easy. After hearing a particularly disappointing Armin set from Tomorrowland filled with cheesy remixes of several of his Intense originals and excessive doses of the dreaded Big Room House, I ruled that one out in flash. Instead, I spent an hour and twelve minutes being serenaded by the inexplicably euphoric sounds of Above & Beyond‘s live Essential Mix from Cream in Ibiza. The mix features several of their recent singles, as well as several exclusive mashups and a slew of Anjunabeats artist productions. It’s simply marvelous.

Come back next week for more Trance!

Wilder, aka 'Will King' is a true aficionado when it comes to writing about his biggest passion in life. Since getting thrust into the EDM scene in July 2011, Wilder has brought an array of different styles to the table, being careful never to completely rule out any one style or subgenre. Raised in New York City, he currently attends school in Colorado, where he has been adamantly exploring the local dance scene. Arty, Cosmic Gate, Dirty South, Sander Van Doorn and naturally Armin are Will King's favorite artists. Although they live almost 1000 miles away from eachother, WKing and Dan Tab each claim they have the best and most energetic dance moves on the OTB team...."Don't try and trade Kandi with me. What does PLUR even mean?"
