Relive EDC Las Vegas with Mat Zo’s Latest Mix

Mat Zo is one of those artists that has never disappointed me. As my group approached the Kinetic Field a few minutes into Mat Zo’s live set this year at the Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, my friend who had never seen him live before said “Is Mat Zo playing drum & bass right now?” and I responded with a resounding “YES,” and explained that Mat Zo plays what seems like every genre imaginable in his sets. From drum & bass to trance hits, Mat Zo captures the attention of crowds with his creativity and skill behind the decks.

After watching Mat Zo’s phenomenal set at EDC, you can only imagine my excitement when I found that Mat Zo’s newest Mat Zo Mix was his set from EDC LV! Be sure to follow this podcast on iTunes or Soundcloud to get some great mixes for work or play. It’s always free to download, and is one of my favorite podcasts because it’s always something new – each new episode has a completely different vibe from the last.

In this set, Mat Zo plays well-known tracks like “The Sky” and “Easy,” but also mixes in some darker tracks, mind-blowing mashups, Middle-Eastern inspired beats, and even a crazy remix of Darude’s “Sandstorm.” During this set, Mat Zo took me from feeling like I was in trance heaven to feeling like I was in a gritty basement in the UK, getting crazy to some dirty beats. Mat Zo is one of the few DJs that can drop Prince and still manage to get the crowd rowdy, and this set proved it.

The only thing this mix needs is a tracklist! For now, just sit back and let this mix take you back to EDC, or simply remind you why you need to check out Mat Zo next time he’s in a town near you.
