Coming into the game at a mere 18 years old is Guillaume Gallovalla, a producer under the moniker of Rusty Hook. I became familiar with the French Jersey Club connoisseur 4 months ago when he released a Jersey Club jam, "42 Wallaby Way
," not just a song, but a landmark brought to us by our favorite Disney Channel movie, Finding Nemo
. It seems like the term Jersey Club has been floating around for months now.....
For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, Jersey Club traces back to the mid 1990s to early 2000s and is essentially a revived version of Baltimore Club music, taking and infusing styles of hip-hop, garage house, and post disco. It has a present day reputation of originating out of Newark, New Jersey and has an interesting twist that sheds light on a whole new perspective to the future of Jersey Club.
DJs, such as Fade, Unique, Nadus, and Rell have helped in bringing back the trend, and unlike before, have recruited producers like Ryan Hemsworth, Lido
, Cashmere Cat, and Trippy Turtle
to improve/enhance this musical fad. About a month ago, Lido released his re-work of ZHU’s "Faded," and as expected, more downloadable renditions have been dished out to the public with the help of various digital outlets.
... and just when you thought you were done listening to all these "Faded" remixes, Rusty Hook did it again and released a glitched Jersey Club version of the treasured, "Faded."
Lido x ZHU - Faded (Rusty Hook Flip)
The track is included on Point Point’s Filet Mignon Volume II tape
, which has received love from the Mad Decent
crew, Porter Robinson
