Shapov – “Runic” [OTB Premiere]

Odds are, you’ve heard a Shapov track sometime in the past 6 months, probably without even realizing it. The young Russian, who many of you may recognize as 1/2 of Hard Rock Sofa, has been forging his own solo sound for the majority of 2015. Some call it “Future Rave“, while others have termed it some sort of advanced electro; whatever you choose to call it, his combination of aggressive synths and tribal vocal chants form quite the unique production.

Over the past few months, Shapov has released 4 huge tracks on Axtone Records including 3 massive originals: Disco Tufli, Party People, and Vavilon. His remix game has also been on point, as can be seen through his stunning rework of CamelPhat‘s A*M*E featured “Paradigm“. In terms of possible collaborations, both fans and critics have speculated that Shapov may be working alongside Axwell Λ Ingrosso on some impending mystery track. Interestingly, we may find out later this week, as both artists tackle forthcoming shows at the famed Ibiza hotel, Ushuaïa.

As for the track at hand, many first heard the unfinished version of “Runic” around 2 years ago in Sebastian Ingrosso‘s set at Summerburst 2013. After many tweaks, reworks, and a fan appointed name, “Runic” is finally here! Thanks to Axtone & OTB, you can stream the track exclusively below. “Runic” will be available on Beatport July 13th, and iTunes / Spotify on July 24th.

Listeners can be sure that “Runic” certainly won’t be the last they hear of Shapov on Axtone Records this year…
