Something Like You May Have Never Heard
One day I was minding my own business in the back seat of the car. My friend called DJ for the ride and threw on this track. Scrolling through Instagram, I was instantly brought back to reality when this sound came on. “What even is this?” I asked my friend. Ever since, I can’t stop listening to this song. It’s called Powder, and it sounds like nothing I’ve ever heard before. A fan of all things out of the ordinary, I can’t help but share this with you all.
Sam Gellaitry – Powder
What I love most about this is that it starts off super melodic and relaxing. You don’t really know what you are getting yourself into. It could be the opening to any song from Snoop Dogg to The Weeknd, but suddenly it progressives into this beautiful collection of sounds that make up something very aesthetically pleasing to listen to. A combination of instrumentals and beats makes for something truly unique.
Sam Gallaitry has a somewhat smaller following on Soundcloud. The young teenage producer from Scotland has a bunch of other really cool songs just like this one on his profile. Each one with a unique sound, lots of instrumentals, lots of melodic sounds. What I think is truly special within his music is that it makes you want to lay down and relax but at the same time you can’t stop yourself from bobbing your head to the music.
There isn’t an insane amount of press surrounding this guy, so as much as I would like to share, I’m not exactly sure of what he is going to be up to next. But I can tell you that I’ll be waiting for that day where I scroll down my Soundcloud stream and see that he’s released something new. Good looks Sam! So young and so inspiring. Keep sharing your talent with the world. This industry needs more innovators just like you!
