After opening to critical acclaim, SOUND Nightclub continues to revolutionize Los Angeles underground dance music every Friday night, bringing the most internationally renowned DJs and producers to the heart of Hollywood. Says LA Weekly, “it’s quite a treat when a venue owner comes along and decides to open a space 100 percent designed for dance music and DJ culture. It still feels rare to us.”
After marquee DJs Sasha and Guy Gerber heralded in the month, the rest of March and April brings This and That Lab’s Davide Squillace, US house legend Doc Martin, house music gangster DJ Sneak, underground icon Lee Burridge, Leftroom’s Matt Tolfrey, San Francisco Kontrol’s Nikola Baytala, Life and Death’s Thugfucker, along with SOUND residents Lauren Lane and leading purveyors of LA techno, Droog. With music that embodies SOUND’s quintessentially LA spirit — eclectic, unique, modern and raw – SOUND Fridays are sure to challenge every discerning electronic dance music lover and keep bodies moving all night.
SOUND was unveiled at the end of last year by Los Angeles based luxury hospitality and development company, Muse Lifestyle Group, and is owned by Robert Vinokur, Kobi Danan, Mikayel Israelyan. The club features an impressive range of nightlife and design amenities that exhibit Muse’s commitment to bringing together industry leaders: Lionel Ohayon of iCrave Design, providing an expansive sunken dance floor, elevated DJ booth, spacious private tables with unparalleled sightlines to the stage; Vello Virkhaus of V Squared Labs with custom visuals and 3D video projection mapping, using their flagship 3D visual performance software EPIC mk2, operating in real-time, allowing for improvisation and instant transformation; Dan Agne of Funktion One with an innovative, first of its kind sound system; and cutting edge lighting designs by Steve Liberman of SJ Lighting.
