Rufus Du Sol and Hermitude Liven Up Seattle

Australians Take Over Chop Suey

On October 17th, Hermitude and Rufus Du Sol flew into Seattle all the way from Australia on their North American Tour.  As far as a live show goes, these two acts brought a little bit of everything to the table.

Hermitude came on right after the local act Navvi.  They play what I would call a live trap set with all sorts of different equipment.  They are not afraid to show off what they are doing on stage and it is nothing short of amazing.  There were probably six or so GoPros set up on stage all pointed in different directions.  The screen behind them would flash between GoPros every few seconds, which showed different shots of the crowd, as well as what the two artists were doing on stage.  From playing keys to different types of beat pads around their necks, this duo was really impressive to watch.  The live video stream element made their show that much more intriguing.  Here are a few remixes they have done in case you haven’t heard of them!

RUFUS aka Rufus Du Sol brought a lot of energy to the stage.  It has been a while since I have reviewed an indie dance show but I have to say it was quite refreshing.  RUFUS brought out a more relaxed crowd than I am used to seeing at shows in Seattle but they clearly knew who they were going to see.  With huge original tracks such as “Sundream” and “Desert Night” coming out on their album Atlas last year, they have quite the following.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they fill much larger venues next time they go on tour in the United States.

Tell us who does your favorite remix of “Sundream” and why in the comments section below!!
