Woogie Weekend: Get Ready to Get Wet & Wild

The Do Lab crew take over Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, California to celebrate music and well being for three days from July 17th – 19th.  Stationed less than two hours from Los Angeles and featuring a plethora of international performers, Woogie Weekend is a true get down at the site where Lightning In A Bottle was 2010-2012. Spawned from the Woogie stage at LIB, which typically features house and techno, the weekend features all of that and more – including disco and progressive dance music.

Adam Freeland, Gigamesh, Pumpkin are joined by a gang of international acts – including these 7 international party starters:

Jonas Rathsman
At 18, Jonas Rathsman began organizing and throwing parties in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city. Quickly rising through the ranks of the city’s underground, the Swede caught the attention of world-renowned label, French Express and the rest is history. His production and DJing style is a genre-defying blend of progressive house, layered tech melodies, and deep, soulful vibes.

Nick Warren
As one of the most widely respected DJs, Nick Warren’s long-spanning career began in the UK in 1998 chasing the waves of growing waves of underground house music. He has worked closely with Jody Wisternoff and released a staggering amount of music on Global Underground and Hope Recordings (whom he heads A&R for), and is also one part of duo Way Out West. Expect a set of deft musicality with waves of driving percussion and melody.

Camea
Born and raised a classical/jazz pianist, Berlin-based Camea got her start collecting records and experimenting with electronic music in the late 90′s. She is currently signed to Bpitch Control, one of the world’s premiere underground labels. Camea’s sound is described as a colorful yet elegant blend of Seattle cool meets Brooklyn edge meets Berlin chic, all underscored by the impeccable finesse of a classically trained musician.

Marcel Fengler
Techno is Berlin DJ/producer resident Marcel Fengler’s “definitive and concentrated passion.” Not surprisingly, his dark and confrontational style is right at home at the legendary Berghain, where he is a resident. A producer on Osgtut Ton and creator of the IMF label, he is a mover and shaker not just in Berlin but in the greater worldwide techno scene. Fengler’s style captures the relentless pulse of his beloved genre but melds elements of ambient, electronica and the uniquely ‘Berghain sound’.

Gorje Hewek & Izhevski
Hailing from Moscow, Gorje Hewek & Izhevski are quickly rising in the realms of house and techno. As members of Moscow’s gold mine label, Shanti Moscow, they’ve put out a number of dreamlike, progressive releases. In that vein, the duo have recently become two key players in Lee Burridge’s signature All Day I dream label/parties. Their sound is a complementary balance between the serene and experimental, and the two are unafraid to delve into dark basslines and off-the-grid examples.

Just Be (Bushwacka!)
Spawned from the illegal underground scene, UK electronic pioneer Just Be’s ever evolving identity landed him a 14 year residency at London’s legendary club, The End, and worldwide recognition. He retains roots in the London scene where he curates massive warehouse parties. The anarchic environment from which he came spawned an ethos of total creative freedom and a sound friendly to many genres including house, techno, breakbeats, downtempo, and ambient.

Pig & Dan
This duo met serendipitously on a flight to Spain in 1999. Recognizing a mutual ethos, they began a musical partnership which also included their powerhouse label, ELEVATE. Drawing from influences in an era of old fashioned production techniques, their eclectic background produces a sound which channels dark house and high-energy techno, whilst infusing their signature non-linear style with twisted and experimental breakdowns.
