Something Wonderful Returns to Dallas This April
Disco Donnie Presents festivals and Texas just seemed to not mix in 2015. Not only did Something Wonderful get rained out, but so did its big sister festival Something Wicked.
A little background if you didn’t hear. After announcing the first Something Wonderful in Dallas last year, Mother Nature decided otherwise as it poured down rain causing the cancellation of the event’s biggest sets including headliners Tiesto and Zed’s Dead. Offering comped tickets to Something Wicked as consolation seemed to remedy some of the issues before Mother Nature again thought otherwise, as the remnants of Hurricane Patricia barreled through Houston flooding the festival grounds.
Disgruntled fans left hundreds of comments on their Facebook page expecting impossible acts including moving the festival on days notice and predicting Texas weather. Although fans threatened to never go to another Disco Donnie event, the promotion company refocused and reenergized Texas with the announcement of Something Wonderful’s sophomore year at Texas Motor Speedway.
Yes, you heard me right, Something Wonderful will be occupying a space similar in size to EDC Las Vegas.
I’m not saying that this event will rival EDCLV, but it’s comforting to know that instead of folding up the event, Disco Donnie is doubling down and giving Dallas a meaningful event to celebrate in April. After struggling with spacing and crowd control at the Cotton Bowl, the ample room of Texas Motor Speedway should be a welcome change for anyone still disappointed. Meanwhile, if you had a ticket to Something Wicked, you had the option of choosing to get a comped ticket to Something Wonderful. Maybe third times a charm?
While a lineup hasn’t been announced yet, you can order your early bird tickets now for Something Wonderful from their website for $69. For everyone that is still angry or mad at Disco Donnie, it’s time to get over it and move on. This is a new year and a new location. Yes, it sucks the events were canceled, but it’s better than sloshing through the mud and being abandoned at TomorrowWorld.
Let us know in the comments below if you will be attending Something Wonderful and who you hope to see on the lineup for the event. Keep up to date with the latest electronic news about Something Wonderful and other events on Only The Beat and make sure to follow us on social media
