More Than Music at Mamby on the Beach

Mamby on the Beach reminds us all that there’s more than music to a festival. While the lineup schedule has you reeling, there are still loads of things to fill your weekend with. From countless food vendors, wellness workshops, and art installations, you might be a little overwhelmed. That’s where Only The Beat comes in. Here’s a comprehensive guide to tackling Mamby on the Beach head on.

First things First …. Food

Cheesies Tenderizer Mamby Beach

Cheesie’s Tenderizer looks heavenly

Attendees will find their favorite piece of grub at The Picnic, a festival food court stocked full of various options for every foodie attending. From Cheesie’s food truck, Da Lobsta Roll, Harold’s Wings, vegetarian Fresh+Jive to Porkchop, every attendee would be a fool to not try something from every single place. Cheesie’s grilled cheeses sound like a sure-fire win including options like mac & cheese, tomatoes, and jalapeños putting a decadent twist on the staple sandwich. Check out more food options Here.

Restore Your Wellness with Workshops

Workshops are a staple for festivals, but Mamby takes it up a notch this year. Silent Disco Yoga make another comeback this year to go along with a slew of new things to keep you well. Tarot cards and palm readings will be available for all the mystics out there, while the Beach Battle Royale Water Fight will give you a competitive age in staying cool from 6 – 7 pm everyday.

On Saturday, Marisa Moon will be hosting two sessions called “Primal Living in the Modern World.” Embracing the “Paleo Diet,” Marisa will teach attendees about eating from the earth, embracing wild foods including seafood, pasture-fed meats, and farm-to-table dining. Sunday will dive into “Maximizing Plant Nutrients” as a live demonstration of making almond milk and more will be discovered.

Check out Marisa Moon’s food blog My Longevity Kitchen for more information along with Mamby’s webpage.

Music + Art = Pure Bliss

We all know that music is art, so what better way to give more love to art than experiencing more of it during the weekend. Bam Creates will be creating a living plant emblem of the event over the weekend near the improved Tiki Bar, so grab a drink, watch the emblem take shape, and tag Only The Beat in pictures of you when it’s finished (@OnlyTheBeatEDM).

Funktion Forms will have shade structures installed, giving your skin a break from the sun. While underneath the shade, check out the onsite painting, graffiti and saran wrap artwork in the trees for a one of a kind experience. Henna and metallic body tattoos are also available, as well as custom braiding stations to really put you in the Mamby mood. If you have that inner pyrotechnic, check out the live fire performances, guaranteed to set your hearts alight.

Music has always been a passion of mine, being the kid trying to find the latest music to listen to. In college, I was exposed to Emalkay's "When I Look At You" and EDM quickly became my favorite genre. I hope to show people through writing what EDM has done to me and hope I can help people discover the beauty that is EDM.
