New Year’s Weekend: Your New York City Party Guide

New Year’s festivities in New York. A pastime of delightful debauchery, when millions of people from different walks of life join together to refute the winter temperatures by partying like it’s smack in the middle of a summer night. The clever folks behind the following parties have put together several brilliant New Year’s strategies to ring in 2017 and put the mess of 2016 behind us for good.

I’ve kindly broken down each event by giving you answers to practical questions you’d ask. Who is playing? When and for how long does the party rage? Why should I go? Find out if you should grab a dose of tropical with Thomas Jack at BangOn!NYC’s warehouse party before heading to the murky techno waters of Solomun’s B2B set with Dixon at Space Ibiza New York. From the hours of 8 PM December 31st to the early morning of January 2nd, you have quite a few options to choose from, and I’ve put them in chronological order to optimize planning.

*Writer’s Challenge: Start out NYE at Villain, move on to Thomas Jack, migrate to Rinsed for the remaining moonlight hours, take a revitalization break at House of YES, enter Âme recharged, and finish off getting caked by Steve Aoki.*

No event is like the next. Wilder

Wilder

Wilder, aka 'Will King' is a true aficionado when it comes to writing about his biggest passion in life. Since getting thrust into the EDM scene in July 2011, Wilder has brought an array of different styles to the table, being careful never to completely rule out any one style or subgenre. Raised in New York City, he currently attends school in Colorado, where he has been adamantly exploring the local dance scene. Arty, Cosmic Gate, Dirty South, Sander Van Doorn and naturally Armin are Will King's favorite artists. Although they live almost 1000 miles away from eachother, WKing and Dan Tab each claim they have the best and most energetic dance moves on the OTB team...."Don't try and trade Kandi with me. What does PLUR even mean?"
