Pemberton Music Festival 2014 Ticket Giveaway!
After its inauguration in 2008, the Pemberton Music Festival took a brief hiatus until 2014, returning with an incredibly stacked lineup that is guaranteed to bring all music fans to beautiful British Columbia. When I initially saw the first phase of the lineup drop months ago, I was immediately drawn to the incredible talent and wide range of genres this year’s lineup boasts.
With headlining acts like Above & Beyond, Empire of the Sun, Deadmau5 and Justice (just to name a few), attendees will be given the opportunity to see many of their favorite artists that have shaped the electronic music scene into what it is today. In addition to a healthy dose of EDM artists, you can also get your fix of hip-hop, rap, alternative rock and even comedy. With that being said, it is easy to say that the Pemberton Music Festival is an one of a kind celebration of music, food, and art in one of the most beautiful settings in the Northwest.
And, without further ado, here are a few of my favorite tracks from a handful of different artists that I am sure will get you pumped up and ready for this years amazing festival experience.
BAAUER & RL GRIME – INFINITE DAPS
If you’re a trap music lover like me, Baauer is the perfect set to see in order to get your adrenaline pumping and energy soaring. After first hearing his breakthrough EP ‘Harlem Shake,’ I fell in love with his fun and bouncy trap sound, and have become a huge fan ever since. This track, a collaboration with friend and fellow trap producer RL Grime (who will also be playing the festival!) is one of my personal favorites and is always one to make me get down and dance.
GRIZ – HARD TIMES
Hailing from Detroit, 23 year-old producer GRiZ has quickly stepped to the forefront of the music scene, creating some of the most funky, melodic beats with the addition of his live saxophone playing. This is one of my personal favorite tracks from his latest
EMPIRE OF THE SUN – DNA
I have loved Empire of the Sun’s sound since I first heard their hit ‘Walking on a Dream’ years ago. Each and every time that an Empire of the Sun song is played at a festival, the crowd goes absolutely wild, and the amount of positive energy is insane. With that being said, I have not been able to see this Australian duo live, which is why I 100% advise seeing them live at this years festival.
CLOCKWORK – CHAMPION
Henry Steinway, known to many as both trap producer RL Grime and big room house producer Clockwork, will be gracing the stage at Pemberton Music Festival under both monikers. Though each of his styles are vastly different, Clockwork combines tribal beats and big room bangers to create a one-of-a-kind bouncy festival experience.
