The History

“Formerly Lazers @ the Lake in 2013, started off as an idea I had last summer, to throw a free locals only outdoor edm event that had a festival feel with camping. Last year I had about 5 weeks to plan it and worked with Justin Truthbetold of Get Active Entertainment™ to get the ball rolling with a location and a name. From there we contacted local DJs we knew who would be interested in helping out with what we called a camping trip with djs and friends.

The idea was to give newer local djs a platform like none other and play for people they would most likely not get a chance to play for with how competitive being a DJ in the club scene is.

The Original “Lazers” took place about an hour and a half drive east from Seattle in late August 2013. Around 200 people showed up from all over the Seattle area and parts of eastern Washington and Ellensburg. It was a two day event that many people enjoyed attending and participating in.

Many new friendships were made that weekend and is actually where I got to know Keano Martinez and Garret Montenez of Trapped Productions, who have become good friends and are a huge part of Lazers unexpected growth in just its second year.

This event has seen many changes in less than a year; new location, new name, bigger lineup, and attendance expected to be 10x larger than last years. We’ve managed to keep the event free. Unfortunately we were unable to keep the location the same due to the quick rise in expected attendance, and worked hard on similar sites but just couldn’t find the right match with a lake or river.

This year we plan to make this something special and something to build on for years to come. We were able to secure great local talent such as Breaux, Bassrock, First Class, Highdrops, Instant Party, Tyler Brown, and Jimni Cricketjust to name a few.

We have some DJs from Portland, as well as many up and coming DJs from around the area! We not only want a wide range of EDM genres represented for this event but also plan on adding other musical acts such as live bands and hip hop artist in the future.

We’ll also make an effort to have artist come out and showcase their talents as well, for example, this year we’ll have a few talented canvas painters out, an art car painting competition, and an art/graffiti wall.

This went from a hangout, to a fest for the rest. Our goal is to be different than other outdoor events, something that brings everyone together, the underground scene and the mainstream, to one place where we can all enjoy the music and each other.”
