With just less than 2 months to go, Backwoods Music Festival
has released their massive 2015 lineup schedule. Spanning Labor Day weekend, Backwoods is putting historic route 66 back on the map for every music lover. With indie artists Keller Williams and The Floozies, electronic artists Odesza
, Porter Robinson
and Infected Mushroom
gathering here, there is something for everyone.
The three day festival boasts 6 unique stages that have slowly been released through their blog including The Motherland
, Globe Theater
starts the festival off right with indie artist Keller Williams on the mainstage as the Elevate stage will house electronic acts Dirtyphonics
, Wick-It the Instigator and others.
is going to be tough to decide which stage to watch as Lettuce, Break Science and Infected Mushroom
will bring The Motherland stage to the ground with amazing music. If you’re looking for something a tad bit heavier Doctor P
and Far Too Loud
will join more artists to shake the Elevate stage. Not to be outdone, The Meadow will have Xilent and Solidisco rocking the stage while The Globe Theater will have Tyrannosaurus Chicken. Both Kumbaya and DiskoPortal will be in full swing also sporting lesser known acts along with competition winners.
Closing the festival out on Sunday
, The Motherland Stage houses one of the best lineups I’ve seen recently. I’ll start with the 7:00 act with Fractal Sky, 8:30 will bring Boombox as 10:30 will bring a live set from Porter Robinson
himself. Only to add to the emotions bound to be pouring out of everyone from Porter, Odesza
will be gracing everyone with their downtempo sound from 12:00 – 1:00 before The Floozies end the festival with a set from 1:30 – 3:00. Not to put the other stages down for Sunday, but it’s going to be hard to pull me away from the mainstage.
Will I see you There?
When I first heard about this festival, I knew I had to go. After missing my chance at attending Euphoria
and Wakarusa, I had to set aside the weekend for Backwoods. What perfect weekend also as they fill the Labor Day long weekend. The location for the festival is spot on as it will be located off Route 66 at Tatanka ranch. What better way to end the summer festival season at a ranch off a historic highway?
Tickets are only $149 which include camping, but if you still think that is too high (really?) they have a Groupon right now making tickets $100 which also includes a T-shirt. With Porter Robinson, Odesza and Infected Mushroom among others, I pity the fool who isn’t going. Ok, Ok, I’ll stop with the Mr. T voice but seriously everyone should try to attend.
