Afterlife has been making waves in Chicago this summer with its Saturday parties. The series began early this year to kickoff the re-opening of Annex Nightclub in Chicago and plan to continue into the foreseeable future
. We've been watching their progress
; attending their parties and writing when we can. They've certainly booked some impressive acts
that were well attended.
This weekend is no exception; as Toronto native, Hatiras
makes his way back to Chicago to celebrate his birthday and launch his new label, Space Disco
. Hatiras got his start as a promoter in the 90's, with his parties peaking at upwards of 10,000 people in attendance. It didn't take long for him to start producing records, however, and the DJ bug was caught soon after. Fast forward two decades and he has over 400 singles, 7 albums, and has won multiple dance music awards in Canada.
Joining Hatiras and making his US debut, will be none other than Australian DJ/Producer LO'99
. Additional local support will come from Chicago based DJ's that include Augi DeLarosa, G-Note, Starvin Cat, Matthias, along with Afterlife Residents Kings of Class, and Nikho.
With West Fest
directly south of Annex this weekend, the Afterlife party makes a no-brainer choice for some post-festival dancing. We'd recommend snapping up some tickets
early on, since the show will very likely hit capacity due to its proximity to the festival. In other exciting news, Only The Beat will be giving away a pair of tickets to the show that come complete with a Lo '99 DJ lesson before the show starts.
