Fareoh Keeps It Coming, Releases Remix of “Just One Last Time”
NYC-bred Prog House producer, Ian Spurrier aka FareOh, has released an uplifting melodic rework of David Guetta’s latest hit, “Just One Last Time” which features the vocals of Taped Rai.
The remix follows his latest single, “Feathers,” a collaboration with fellow up-and-comer Archie out of Moscow. It’s always a treat each time we’re graced with a new track from the 20 year old, who just recently finished up a massive, 50+ city tour with dance legend Kaskade.
Not be controversial (but I’m going to be, isn’t that the whole point of being a music critic?), Fareoh gives us just another example of why remixes of David Guetta’s tracks have a curious habit of being better than the original pieces. Armin remixed “Without You,” Arno Cost, Alesso, and Gregori Klosman have all produced incredibly succinct remixes of 2012 anthem “Titanium.” Guetta has gracefully released many of these as official remixes, yet it’s getting to the point where between constant pre-recorded sets and soft-hitting pop tracks, the music veteran may be reaching a point of no return. Nonetheless, you have to give respect to someone who has truly evolved dance music into what it is today.
After blasting Fareoh’s remix about five times on repeat, I ventured towards the original version of the single. It’s actually pretty decent. Guetta keeps a nice progressive anthem feel to it with well-orchestrated buildups and kicks. My only qualm lays in the annoying, auto-tuned vocals that seem out of place with the general feel of the melody. I digress…
Regardless, serious props to Fareoh for this brilliant mid-week kicker, it’s certainly going to be getting ME through 200 or so pages of Spanish colonization reading tonight and into the weekend on a good note. From a fan/appreciator to said Swedish sensation, please keep doing whatever the fuck you’re doing, it’s awesome.
PS-Check out Tiesto’s remix as well, and stay tuned for a release date.
