Have you ever been to an EDM show where the DJ “just knows”? Not only do they play every single song from your own personal "mind playlist" you’ve been listening for the past week, but they know exactly what to drop to get you dancing, stomping, jumping, moshing, etc. Its as if they are reading your mind with their musical selection. The crowd has an amazing vibe, energy is high, and you never want to stop listening. This picture I just painted is exactly like every single Zeds Dead
show I have ever attended.
I’ve had the opportunity to see Zeds Dead four times in the past year, but it wasn’t until Summer Set Music Festival that I heard them take a chance on integrating the all so popular, trendy “trap” into their set when they dropped Mercy – RL Grime. With all their collaborations and utilization of rapper Omar Linx, I have found that Zeds Dead wears a lot of hats when it comes to the different genres they experiment throughout their releases. Trap is another one they wear well.
Check out their newly released trap track featuring Juicy J, Ratchet:
Although its clear they are interpreting Trap in their own way, you can still hear the roots of their popular electro jams in the background. The collaboration with Juicy J was definitely the right choice. I look forward to hearing this track in tons of new sets, and especially live! In my opinion, Zeds Dead has done it again! Happy listening my friends!
