Kryder & Tom Staar – Big Momma’s House

Kryder & Tom Staar

UK artists Kryder and Tom Staar have collaborated again to release their latest single for free on Sosumi Records entitled “Big Momma’s House.” The two London-based artists have had an extensive history of collaborating together since the infancy of their own careers, starting from their remixes of Afrojack‘s “Can’t Stop Me Now” and Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy The Silence,” to their latest smash-hit remix of Arno Cost and Norman Doray’s “Apocalypse 2014.”

In addition to their frequently successful productions in the last few years, the artists have founded their own record labels; Tom founding Staar Traxx last year and Kryder creating Sosumi this year. Sosumi is a label dedicated to releasing tracks for free by promising young artists, such as the single “Delorean” by Simon De Jano and Bottai. In addition, both artists have made their debuts at big EDM festivals across the world this year including Tomorrowland.

The Track Itself

“Big Momma’s House” is another genius big-room production comprised of an uplifting carnival feeling and a fast-paced tempo mixed with kickbeats and the classic vocal lyrics sample made by Manu Dibango in his Afro-funk song “Soul Makossa,” which have been repeatedly used and edited by other artists such as Michael Jackson in “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin” and Rihanna  in her song “Don’t stop the Music” – although not without copyright claims by Dibango – let’s hope “Big Momma’s House is libel-free. The song can be downloaded for free on Sosumi Records Soundcloud Page here.
