T.I. ft. Iggy Azalea – No Mediocre (Grandtheft + Migos Remix)

After generating over 53 million views on the original, T.I. and Iggy Azalea’s radio-hit ‘No Mediocre’ was bound to receive plenty of remixes. A week ago we were pleasantly surprised to find Grandtheft had taken the tune and turned it into a trap banger. Filled with heavy dub sounds, this twerk trap remix caught the rap group Migos’ eyes, which proceeded to spit their own game onto the already popular track. Migos clearly won the rap battle on this one, with the trios rhythmic beat-matching lyrics only making the faster lyrics sound better. Although Migos brilliantly rapped, the real winner is still Grandtheft with his remix.

He took this beat and flipped the original and placed a monster trap-step drop into the middle of this tune. After getting a tad tired of the original as it controlled the airwaves for the summer, it is refreshing to see it receive an unconventional drop from one of the greats, Grandtheft. Adding in jungle drums kept the beat while he dropped massive sounds that invade the deepest crevices of your ears. ‘No Mediocre’ still provides the essential twerk theme to make you forget about work and get that booty twerking that made the original so popular. I’m sure this song will make its way into his sets at his upcoming concerts along with many other artists.

It was smart for Migos and Grandtheft to leave in Iggy Azalea’s verse since they took out T.I.’s . Her verse fits well in the mix, starting up as Migos ends their verses. The real winner about this release is that they are giving it out for free download! So grab the download and throw it into your library and playlists to get people hyped up. Enjoy!

Music has always been a passion of mine, being the kid trying to find the latest music to listen to. In college, I was exposed to Emalkay's "When I Look At You" and EDM quickly became my favorite genre. I hope to show people through writing what EDM has done to me and hope I can help people discover the beauty that is EDM.
