Henrix’s “Big Spender” Takes Big Room Back to 1966

Henrix has been on quite a tear this summer, releasing tracks on Arkade Records, Thrive Music, Cr2 Records, and Smash The House. While the majority of these past releases were huge electro / big room tracks, “Big Spender” takes a decidedly different tone from the others.

For this track, Henrix sampled the Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields original, “Big Spender“, written for the wildly popular 1966 musical, “Sweet Charity“. Interestingly, Henrix chose to remix the Shirley Bassey version, most likely due to her powerful vocals and supremely sassy tone. Thanks to the catchy, and instantly recognizable nature of the original, a handful of other artists have also repurposed the tune, including Jay-Z, Theophilus London, and even Queen. However, none of their efforts capture the modern day Gatsby-esque vibe quite like Henrix.

To further cement the image of this millionaire lifestyle, Henrix has pieced together a short video for the track, which can be viewed on his Facebook. Check out the track below, and grab your free download HERE!
