Alex Metric Takes Us to the Disco with ‘Hope’ EP
British DJ and producer Alex Metric has just released yet another stellar EP titled ‘Hope’- out now on OWSLA / Big Beat Records. This house-driven 3-track EP is perfectly balanced with futuristic disco elements and synth leads that can truly take you back to the ‘80s. ‘Hope’ features two collaborations with LA-based duo Oliver on the hypnotic singles “Hope” and “Galaxy.” You’ll definitely want to get your hands on this back-to-the-future compilation for some afternoon grooving while you camp out this festival season.
The first track on the EP is the self-titled single “Hope” featuring Oliver, a feel good record with an uplifting one line vocal, supported by a house infused high-hat to snare pattern that you can’t help but bob your head to.
“Spiritism,” the second single on the EP, has a timeless flashback to the ‘80s vibe reminiscent of the band A Flock Of Seagulls. Alex Metric’s funky synth pad, backed by innovative spacey instrumentals makes for a tune you can play on high volume and your parents won’t mind a bit!
The third and final track on the EP is another collaboration with Oliver called “Galaxy.” This is a funky little number with a pulsating melody embellished with a bouncy bassline and wide ranging synth progressions. “Galaxy” absolutely screams disco!
