Hook N Sling’s Ultimate Remix of “Ultraviolence”

I’m usually not the biggest fan of 10-something song “sets” on SoundCloud including various remixes of a track. Typically, I feel like I just listened to the same exact song 10 times and I’m ready to skip next. When a set of “Ultraviolence” remixes from Lana Del Rey‘s SoundCloud popped up on my home stream the other day, I was about ready to skip to something else, when Hook N Sling’s treatment of this song came on – and I fell in love.

If you’re not aware, Hook N Sling is a fantastic producer and DJ hailing from the gorgeous surf city Bondi Beach in Australia. You may know him from tracks like the mellow “Take You Higher” and the summery classic “Reason” with Nervo, as well as numerous remixes that breathe a completely new life into well-known tracks.

Hook N Sling’s remix of “Ultraviolence,” is no different – it keeps the eerie undertones of Lana Del Rey’s song to pull at your heartstrings, but adds strings and a up-tempo beat that makes you want to get up and lose yourself in the music.

So, whether you’re stateside this summer, or maybe enjoying the sun in a place a bit more exotic (like Hook N Sling’s hometown of Bondi Beach), be sure to add this remix to your summer playlist!
