Kygo’s First Original is One for the Books

Welcome to the land of the originals, Kygo. After becoming wildly popular this past year with some amazing remixes (I still have his “Often” and “Midnight” renditions in multiple playlists of mine) and filling in for Avicii at Tomorrowworld, it has been confirmed that Kygo is something special. The Norwegian native has been teasing us with snippets and pictures of him mastering his first original and now at long last we have the complete track. Click play below and enjoy.

Can you think of a better Tropical House tune? The light, bouncy beat reminds me of a bright and sunny day that instantly brings a smile to my face. Kygo kept true to his well-established sound from his remixes, and sets the bar extremely high for his future originals. Clearly 2015 is bound to be another stellar year for the artist so keep your eyes peeled for more tunes from him.

While we still may be questioning Kygo’s live mixing skills after his Endless Summer tour, he continues to blow our minds with excellent production of his tunes. Now that he joins the ranks of original producers, it will be exciting to see how high Kygo will soar. “Firestone” was released today as a Spotify exclusive, so check it out and listen away.

Music has always been a passion of mine, being the kid trying to find the latest music to listen to. In college, I was exposed to Emalkay's "When I Look At You" and EDM quickly became my favorite genre. I hope to show people through writing what EDM has done to me and hope I can help people discover the beauty that is EDM.
