Sittin’ on top of the world
If you haven’t noticed yet, most of the songs I post are songs that I can’t get out of my head. My selection process goes something like this:
Opens up itunes, Soundcloud, or di.fm
Hears amazing song…gets feels…struck with overwhelming feeling of being compelled to share amazing tune with everyone and anyone willing to listen.
It’s almost like a sickness…music blogger sickness…It’s as if sharing these songs by blogging is the only remedy, the only action, that actually allows me to move on and continue my search for most amazing music in the world. I think it’s part of EDM culture that many of us are familiar with: You get about 37 minutes into a set and you’re like OMFG WTF SONG IS THAT…and then the DJ transitions…and the moment is gone…The track never to be found again.
I think music blogging is something I do to combat that feeling. I know there’s always a place online where I can go back and find the tracks I’ve written about. And that’s the main reason OTB will never die (I’m setting up a trust to continue paying hosting fees in the event of my death). Thanks for sticking with us throughout all of the changes and growing pains. We’ll never stop evolving. I hope you feel like this is a site that you can count on to post good music (no seriously, if you don’t like music that gets posted, tell us by commenting on the article!). While not all of my articles are so well received, I feel extremely blessed by the ones that are. I just want to make you dance! And this one should do the trick.
