Robert DeLong Gives ZZ Ward’s “LOVE 3X” A Future Flair

As dance music continues to grow in popularity, we’re starting to see pop stars team up with dance music producers more and more, whether its for production duties or just an official remix. ZZ Ward is the latest pop starlet to look to dance music to bolster the excitement of her already highly-anticipated album, This Means War, which is due out in September. A number of producers, including RAC, Joywave, and now Robert DeLong have taken on the responsibility of remixing the lead single off the album, “LOVE 3X.”

DeLong’s remix morphs ZZ Ward’s catchy pop anthem into a future house track that’s more fitting for the Sahara Tent than anything else. Complex and intricate percussion arrangements grab your attention from the start of the track, and ZZ Ward’s infectious croons take a backseat to the sweeping synth melodies and booming bass lines of DeLong’s remix, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
