Review: Jeudi Release First Instalment Of Remix Compilation Series
Jeudi is now one of the most established and trendsetting dance labels in Germany. It’s fine roster of artists put out consistently excellent streams of music. Revisiting some of their great past hits, the record label released four top name remixes including New York City’s MANIK, Clink’s first lady Camea and Maxxi Soundsystem.
There are many highlights on this carefully curated new package, including a cut from little known Quina. Burrowing deep into the night with neon melodies, soft drums and richly emotive vocals make you feel all warm inside. Elsewhere, a mistress of dark minimal techno, Camea cooks up a slick, dubbed out roller full of inviting darkness and creepy vocals. Maxxi Soundsystem comes in with another magical, floor slaying baselines sweeps on his remix, and it is the sort of elegant, attention grabbing track that will stick out in any set. Last but not least, fans of deep, classically inclined house music will be into the remix from Brooklyn boy MANIK. He is in fine form with his track and as such closes out a brilliant EP full of freshness from Jeudi.
