Stay Close: An Artistic Odyssey in a San Francisco Warehouse
Stay Close, a brand new event series, is hitting the streets (and warehouses) of San Francisco on Friday, August 26th, with a little help from Brooklyn’s RVDIOVCTIVE. Aiming to bring a totally immersive artistic experience, there will be multiple floors, multiple mediums, with multiple DJ’s. Stay Close hopes to lead you down the rabbit hole with some of the best artists from some of our favorite labels along with mind-blowing projection art, mystery shots and the stated goal to provide a curated, immersive, artistic experience in a social context.
When guests arrive at the warehouse (470 Stevenson Street), they will be ushered into an elevator that descends into the basement where the party begins by being handed a mystery shot and a playing card. Meetup with other guests to make a hand and you could win a variety of prizes from free drinks at the venue to free tickets to shows across the U.S. Frankly speaking, to see a series put a certain amount of creative effort into not only engaging with their audience, but having the audience engage with one another, is refreshing in a time of constant social media and technological isolation.
For my favorite part (i.e. the music) UK house veterans Waze & Odyssey are headlining the show, with support from Brooklyn’s Walker & Royce (who’ve recently released tracks on Dirtybird and have been featured on one of my all-time favorite podcasts, the Clapcast with Claptone), Harvard Bass (who consistently is played by the likes of Green Velvet, Seth Troxler, and Loco Dice, if that gives you any hint as to his style and sound) and Devon James, one of the most notable figures in New York’s artist collective, RVDIOVCTIVE. Grab your tickets, grab your friends and be prepared as Stay Close and RVDIOVCTIVE usher you into an overwhelming demonstration of artistic expression!
