Kygo, The Piano Man with "Piano Jam"

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

Beautifully-crafted, sensationally classical and yet deeply emotional, the rising tropical-house producer Kygo has given us a new track that lets us know we can expect big things in the near future from him. His new track "Piano Jam" has reignited my excitement for his future house sound that he has played face-of since the beginning of the trop-house movement, at least in the pop world. This is a must-listen, at least to see the diverse classical sound that Kygo is producing on this new track. Regardless of the arguments of Kygo as DJ-versus-producer, this only solidifies that he, at the very least, will keep giving us uplifting, inspiring and original sound to digest. It's not exactly like this is a huge track leak off a new album, but more of a "look what I can do with the pro-tools" sorta thing. I was one of the many who attended a Kygo show back in the fall of 2014 wondering if his DJ skills will match his production in the future, but this kind of stuff at least reminds us that dance music has a wonderful soft-spot that allows for people normally apposed to the scene have started to get into. Say what you will about Kygo, but his track record is growing and his features, remixes and originals are something to be proud of. Hell, I could get my parents to listen to this stuff. And will most likely try to, only to fail to my dad's inability to log in to Soundcloud.
