Releasing on Armada Music on August 16, A Song Across Wires is DJ and producer BT‘s ninth album and his follow-up to 2010’s Grammy-nominated These Hopeful Machines. Only The Beat sat down with him in Seattle to discuss his upcoming album and the answers we got? Mind blowing.
BT has worked with the likes of Madonna, Sting, Britney Spears, Tori Amos, David Bowie, Tiësto and Armin van Buuren to name a few, and is the architect behind seminal classics such as ‘Flaming June,’ ‘Every Other Way’ and ‘Love Comes Again.’ As a platinum-selling film composer BT has scored for luminaries such as Pixar and composed full orchestral scores for blockbuster films like The Fast and Furious and Monster. BT also runs his own software venture Sonik Architects and is the creator of the StutterEdit™, which is used by artists as varied as Justin Bieber to Skrillex.
A Song Across Wires features collaborations with some of EDM’s heaviest hitters, including Nadia Ali, ARTY, Tritonal, Emma Hewitt, JES, Tania Zygar, TyDi and more. 3 singles from the album–‘Must Be The Love,’ ‘Skylarking,’ and ‘Surrounded’–have all reached the top 3 on Beatport’s trance chart.
