Bootlegs & Party Starters: Quick Fire With Oski
We take some time to grill the increasingly talented bass artist Oski on all things musical. Having released on labels including Adapted and Heavy Artillery, it’s clear his inimitable style will keep bringing him into the spotlight. Be sure to grab his “Everybody” (Backstreet Boys) bootleg that he just dropped with Apashe and Lennon.

OTB: What’s been your favorite track of 2015 so far?
O: “Man, there are so many huge tunes dropping every single day and it’s hard to keep track of them. I’d definitely give that one to Boombox Cartel for “B2U” though… That track has exploded to a whole other level. It’s getting support from some of the biggest names on the planet right now… so a huge big-up to the Boombox boys for dropping such a monster!”
OTB: What tracks most remind you of home?
O: “Stone Temple Pilots – “Plush” – This has always been my jam – my uncle used to sing it at family parties, so it holds a special place in my heart. Also it was in San Andreas and that game holds a special place in my heart, as I’m sure it does for many people my age!”
OTB: The one tune you can always rely on to put you in a good mood?
O: “The Star Wars “Cantina Band” song, I’ve spent hours listening to that on repeat because it’s just so damn catchy and upbeat. When I was a kid, I used to set up fake cantinas with all my action figures and toys and have that track playing in the background. I was an odd kid.”
OTB: The track you really like that maybe people wouldn’t expect or know?
O: “The Dean Martin version of “King of the Road” by Roger Miller, I think his voice suits the music much better than Roger Miller’s. I grew up listening to quite a lot of different types of music!”
OTB: The guaranteed party starter?
O: “Y’all gon’ make me lose my mind; UP IN HERE! UP IN HERE!”
“Drop that track any day of the week and you’ve got a guaranteed turn up!”
OTB: Favorite track from the 90s?
O: “This is a super difficult question for me, because most of the music I listen to nowadays is 90s music. But I’d have to say – Corona “Rhythm of the Night”. So catchy. So Ravey.”
OTB: The track to get everyone singing along?
O: “I Can’t Stop” by Flux Pavilion works at my shows quite often. It’s a really energetic track but those vocals are so simple yet so catchy. The crowd loves to scream it out when I drop the track out into silence, then drop it back in just before the kick!”
OTB: Best bootleg of 2015 so far?
O: “Hands down the Creation bootleg of “Prison Riot”. Dude is ridiculously underrated and he’s building a great sound for himself with his signature synth. He even got support from Flosstradamus for the bootleg, so it’s safe to say he’s got it!”
