Sundays should be a day of R&R, self-reflection, and time spent with friends and family. Lots of people turn to "Sunday Funday" as well. If you have to work, we hope you take the time before or after to take part in the aforementioned.
I prefer "Lazy Sundays." I was taking a nap after breakfast this morning, and fell asleep to a Sunlounger mix. I woke up refreshed, and I would like to give everyone a chance to relax by coming out with a new Lazy Sundays almost every week.
This is the Sunlounger mix that inspired me:
I would like to use "Lazy Sunday with Only The Beat" to introduce new tracks that I think are big-time, as well as chill tracks/mixes/live sets to help you achieve a "Lazy Sunday." I might throw in some surprises as well. You should definitely tune in every Sunday.
To kick things off, I would like to introduce a track that was introduced during Laidback Luke's Main Stage set at Ultra Music Festival 2013. It's called 'More Cowbell', and is produced by D.O.D. of Ones to Watch Records, a new division of Mixmash Records. 'More Cowbell' is a BANGER, and is the only prescription you need.
Anjunabeats is doing a fantastic job with Anjunadeep and their Anjunabeats Worldwide podcasts. Beckwith is the man, and this mix belongs in anybody's collection.
The insanely talented BT recently took an already great track in Super8 and Tab's 'L.A.' and put his signature BT touch on it. We all would love BT to produce and remix more trance like this again. It's hard to complain about the way that he dabbles in different genres, though. I'll take whatever I can get my hands on.
Dusky is superb, in every which way. The duo has really been hitting their stride since their Essential Mix last year really put them on the map with the masses. 'Numerical' is my favorite track by them.
Markus Schulz. The Unicorn Slayer. New World Punx has received rave reviews so far, and we hope to see a lot more from the newly formed Markus and Ferry Corsten duo. On a lighter note, Rafael Frost's remix of Markus's 'Perception' is real easy on the ears. Explore your inner depths.
The last track I have for your "Lazy Sunday" is a new track on the horizon from the Techno Queen herself, Nicole Moudaber. Moudaber collaborates with the dark Drumcode king Adam Beyer for 'Take Hold.' I cannot wait till 'Take Hold' is officially released. This should be on everyone's minds going into festival season.
I couldn't introduce "Lazy Sunday with Only The Beat" without the infamous The Lonely Island video for 'Lazy Sunday'. Enjoy.
There you have it folks. I hope you enjoyed the first edition of Lazy Sundays. Enjoy your week, and we'll see you again next Sunday.
