Lazy Sundays 10

Hey there friends, we’re back finally with the TENTH edition of Lazy Sundays! I apologize that there wasn’t a post last Sunday. I had an extenuating circumstance come up. Either way, we’ve reached ten editions and I’m feeling really good about all of this.

As a special thanks to all of you diehard music lovers out there, next Sunday will be a fan-submitted edition of “Lazy Sundays with Only The Beat!” I would like you to send me an electronic dance music track or a set that you think would be perfect for “Lazy Sundays.” I will choose 10 of them, and feature them in next Sunday’s edition. You can comment on the bottom of this page, tweet or DM me @PetersonOTB, or comment on our Facebook page.

Let’s dive into the music, shall we?

Marco Bailey – Caliente (Original Mix)

‘Caliente’ is seriously en fuego. Marco Bailey is a tech house legend. I feel like the king of the jungle whenever I listen to this.

Giuseppe Ottaviani with Ferry Corsten – Magenta (Original Mix)

‘Magenta’ is relentlessly uplifting. I cannot stop listening to this. The “Magenta” album itself has to be one of the best albums of the year so far. Giuseppe always finds a way to blend in the classic trance style and feeling every singleĀ  time.

Pelari – Cango (Original Mix)

‘Cango’ unleashes a ferocious kick that should supplement your weekend pregames with friends. Musical Freedom is dominating big room house and electro right now.

Omnia – Infina (Original Mix)

Omnia produces trance masterpiece after trance masterpiece. ‘Infina’ slightly edges out ‘The Light’ as my favorite Omnia track.

Chris Lake @ Cielo, NYC [June 13th, 2013]

A few weeks ago, Chris Lake spun a special three-hour deep house set in New York City. This is a treat. Enjoy.

Temper Trap – Sweet Disposition [Axwell & Dirty South Remix]

“A moment of love, a dream, a laugh, a kiss, a cry, our rights, our wrongs…” Enough said.

Superskank – Good Time [Olivier Giacomotto Remix]

“Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.” Classic tech house right here.

Gareth Emery – “The Lost Mix” [2002]

This is one of the best low key gems in electronic dance music history, friends. I came across this long-lost Gareth Emery demo CD yesterday on Gareth’s Soundcloud account. Gareth’s friend found this demo CD while cleaning out his house one day. “The Lost Mix” is all vinyl and all live. Gareth thinks this was recorded about a year before his first gig. Of course this is amazing. The best part is you can download it!

To take Lazy Sundays to the next level, I’m going to start picking an ultimate throwback track as “old school fire” from now on. This could be a track that has nothing to do with electronic dance music. I’m a firm believer in promoting nostalgic moments for a mood boost, so I’ll mix it up every week to keep you on your toes.

Old School Fire: Mark Morrison – Return Of The MackĀ

Yeah that’s right. It’s the return of the mack. What do you know about this!?

That’s it for this week, friends. I look forward to listening to your submissions. Enjoy your week, and we’ll see you back here next Sunday.

Cheers.
