Lazy Sundays 13

“Do not let Sunday be taken from you. If your soul has no Sunday, it becomes an orphan.” Those are the wise words of Albert Schweitzer. With that said, don’t let anyone take away your lazy Sundays. Lazy Sundays don’t have to entail being lazy the whole entire day. But, I encourage you to take it easy and put on some music to groove and relax to. You’re going to LOVE this week’s edition.

Above & Beyond feat. Zoë Johnston – Alchemy (Jody Wisternoff Remix)

Anjunadeep 05 came out on Monday, and both mixes are absolutely fantastic. Wisternoff’s deep house remix of ‘Alchemy’ is on point. I personally appreciate this much more than the original.

Loco Dice – Live @ Surfcomber WMC 2011 [FREE DOWNLOAD]

One of the best techno sets I’ve ever heard, hands down. From start to finish, Loco Dice goes in.

Akira Kayosa & Hugh Tolland – Kaipara (ReOrder Remix)

This debuted on ASOT 623 this week. I expect this to blow up within the next week or two. This is trance at its finest.

Andrew Bayer – Distractions (Movement 1-4 Continuous Mix)

Andrew Bayer never disappoints. The Anjunabeats native is one of the most consistent producers on Anjunadeep. You will thoroughly enjoy this deep mix from 2011.

Roberto Capuano – Vertigo (Original Mix)

Oh yes, oh yes! ‘Vertigo’ has been dropped in many of Carl Cox’s sets this year. I went off when this dropped at Ultra. Roberto Capuano is someone you should check out. I recommend ‘Free’ and ‘Absolute.’

Markus Schulz – Global DJ Broadcast Sunrise Set 2013

The unicorn slayer has done it again. Another year, another sunrise set. This year’s is my favorite by far from Markus.

Richie Hawtin & Marco Carola – Amnesia Ibiza Closing Party 2009

Two of the very best in techno. This video is pretty funny. The set itself is stellar.

Nero – Guilt (Original Mix)

You didn’t expect this did you? I started off listening to mostly dubstep and drum and bass before my tastes have progressed into what it is now. I’ve seen Nero a couple of times (Joe Ray both times). Nero’s Essential Mix is one of the best ever IMO.

David Guetta – Titanium (Alesso Remix)

“I’m bulletproof, nothing to lose, fire away, fire away.” ‘Titanium’ was the jam last year for many people. Alesso remixed an okay track into a standout at festivals last year.

High Contrast feat. Tiesto & Underworld – The First Note is Silent (Original Mix)

Looking back, it’s weird to realize that a High Contrast, Tiesto, and Underworld collaboration took place a couple of years ago. “The Agony and the Ecstasy” is a top-notch album, still to this day. This track brings back some good memories.

Knife Party – Essential Mix @ Space, Ibiza (2011) [FREE DOWNLOAD]

“Where’s the bloody Knife Party?” I remember when my friends and I first listened to this. We were all taken by surprise because this was something brand new, something totally different. We thought this was the greatest thing in the world at the time. It felt great to listen to this again. I’m a fan of Rob Swire’s break from touring to produce new music. Deep down, I yearn for a Pendulum-Knife Party fusion to be on display in his newest material.

Old School Fire: Next – Too Close

Everyone and their mother was all about this song back in the late 90’s. I grew up with this song, and still think it’s 100000x better than anything that’s produced these days as Billboard chart toppers.

Old School Fire: Sisqo – Thong Song

“Baby! That thong, thong, thong, thong, thong!” Probably the most epic song of all-time, and still relevant for nostalgic moments. Another trip down memory lane.

That does it for this week’s Lazy Sundays, friends. I’m going to start incorporating more dubstep and drum and bass for all of you bass faces out there. I’ll see you again next week. Cheers.
