Lazy Sundays 14

What’s going on? It’s August ALREADY and we’re back with our fourteenth episode of Lazy Sundays. I can’t believe we’ve had 14 Lazy Sundays already. Let’s get to it. This week, I went heavy on tunes from big names.

Fedde Le Grand – Metrum (UMEK Remix)

WOW. As part of Toolroom Records’s tenth birthday celebrations, the TEN campaign has set out to showcase some of Toolroom’s landmark tracks, updated and reworked from some of the biggest names in electronic dance music. ‘Metrum’ is a lifeblood in many of Fedde’s sets, and UMEK has revitalized it, if that was even possible. I can’t lie, I dig UMEK’s remix way more than the original.

Bobina – Miami Echoes (Original Mix)

Incredible. ‘Miami Echoes’ comes out at the perfect time. Miami Music Week still lingers in many of our heads, and ‘Miami Echoes’ sucks us right back in, to make sure we don’t forget about it.

Guy J – April 2011 Set [FREE DOWNLOAD]

I have been listening to a lot of Guy J lately. Guy J is just on another level with progressive and deep house. This is my favorite set of his so far.

Tritonal – Everafter (Tritonal Club Mix)

My favorite Tritonal track of all-time. I’m a huge fan of everything Tritonal has produced up until the last Air Up There episode.

Deadmau5 – Stereo Fidelity (Original Mix)

Ahhh, the good ol’ days of Deadmau5. The whole “Play Vol. 3” album is fantastic. ‘Stereo Fidelity’ is still a fine display of Deadmau5 at his best.

Aly & Fila – Live @ Armada Night 2011, Crobar (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

Four and half hours of Aly & Fila. You’re welcome.

Danny Byrd – Tonight (feat. Netsky)

“Tonight is gonna be the night, when the moon and the stars and the stage are shining bright. So come and enjoy with me, a celebration tonight of all our history!” One of my favorite drum and bass tracks to this day, Danny Byrd and Netsky go in.

Sander van Doorn – ASOT 550 Miami

Sander’s ASOT 550 set from Ultra still leaves me wondering what happened to it all. I still enjoy Sander, and he always seems to have a blast whenever he’s on the decks. There’s just something missing, and I feel like he left it at this set and forgot to go back and get it.

Bassnectar – Timestretch (West Coast Lo Fi Mix)

There’s not many things in this world that beat hearing ‘Timestretch’ live. A rabbit hole doesn’t even do it justice.

Porter Robinson – BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix 2012 (Live from Hull)  [FREE DOWNLOAD]

This has to be the essential mix that really helped propel Porter to the level he’s at now. I had the pleasure of seeing Porter as a co-headliner in June 2011. After his performance, I knew he would be in the top echelon of producers in the near future.

Old School Fire: New Order – Bizarre Love Triangle

Every time I hear this track, I always think back to when I was 8-9 years old.

Old School Fire: Planet Soul – Set U Free

One of the sexiest tracks of all-time. Probably one of the most forgotten, too.

So long until next week, friends. Cheers.
