Lazy Sundays 33

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. I’m back with another craving of Lazy Sundays. Lazy Sundays 33 features music from Hardwell, Eric Prydz, Luciano, Gaia, the new BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix from Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Old School Fire, and more. So kick back, take the journey, and go into the week with this mindset: When words fail, let the music speak.

Downlink – Ignition (Original Mix)

Let’s put the keys in the ignition and kick off Lazy Sundays with a proper opening track from Downlink.

Spektre – Skuz (Original Club Mix)

Spektre’s ‘Skuz’ is my favorite Toolroom release at the moment. ‘Skuz’ is widely supported by Carl Cox, Nicole Moudaber, PanPot, and many other techno and tech house producers. Get into it.

Luciano – Live At Cadenza Showcase, Blue Parrot (BPM Festival 2014, Playa Del Carmen) [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Tech House FUEGO. Luciano’s set at Blue Parrot is by far my favorite BPM Festival 2014 set. The set runs just over three and a half hours. I’ve listened to it at least 10 times. Tech House es la vida.

The Killers vs Alesso – Silenced By Mr. Brightside (Hardwell Mashup)

Does anyone remember this forgotten mashup from Hardwell? I have NEVER heard it dropped in a live set. Combining the beloved vocals of ‘Mr. Brightside’ with Alesso’s euphoric remix of Keane’s ‘Silenced By The Night’ was a genius idea of Robbert’s. Have fun on Cloud Nine.

Gaia – J’ai Envie De Toi (Original Mix)

If you haven’t heard by now….Armin van Burren is spinning a “purist” set at ASOT650 under his trance alter ego Gaia! This is epic news for the pure trance fans out there. I had the privilege of attending ASOT600 at  Ultra Weekend 2 last year. If this is going to be your first time at Ultra, I highly suggest that you aim to attend ASOT650, even if trance isn’t a genre you’re fond of.

Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano – BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix 2014 [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Energetic house duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano took over the Essential Mix duties for the first time this weekend. Their debut was top-notch and spirited. James & Marciano were handpicked by Steve Angello for the Essential Mix’s Future Stars series, and I couldn’t think of a more deserving duo at the moment.

Old School Fire: Moby – Bodyrock (Olav Basoski’s Da Hot Funk Da Freak Funk Remix) (1999)

Unbelievable. I’m not a fan of the original version of ‘Bodyrock’, but this 1999 funk remix from Olav Basoski gets it in.

Mark Broom – Trees (Original Mix)

Mark Broom’s ‘Trees’ is a tech house throwback from 2010 that I just found in one of Nicole Moudaber’s first sets. It may be winter, but one constant is that I will continue to stuff Lazy Sundays with 2-3 tech house tracks that will take your mind off of the cold weather (unless you live in Miami or Ibiza of course).

Jamie Jones – Live At Paradise, Coco Maya (BPM Festival 2014, Playa del Carmen) [FREE DOWNLOAD]

The revolutionary sound of Jamie Jones has been lighting up my speakers lately. Jones has a minimal, deep techno sound that is warming people up to a more melodic, deeper side of techno than ever imagined. Jones heads up the Hot Creations label, a label that you should look into ASAP. Jones is also a member of Hot Natured with fellow Hot Creations artist Lee Foss.

Mihai Popoviciu – Transitions (Eric Prydz Bootleg Mix) (*Unofficial*)

I am crazy about this unofficial bootleg that Eric Prydz opened with during his Cream Ibiza Essential Mix back in August.

There will come a time in your life when you will ask yourself a series of questions:

Am I happy with who I am?
Am I happy with the people around me?
Am I happy with what I’m doing?
Am I happy with the way my life is going?
Do I have a life or am I just living?

Do not let these questions strain or trouble you…
Just point youself in the direction of your dreams…
Find your strength in the sound…
And make your transition…

Old School Fire: Darude vs Robert Miles – Children Of The Sandstorm

Old school, high energy trance at its finest with this infusion of Robert Miles’s ‘Children’ and Darude’s ‘Sandstorm’. These classics pair extremely well together. Enjoy the memories that each track brings back.

Thank you for tuning into Lazy Sundays this week. I hope you enjoyed yourself. I will leave you with a fortune to kick start your week. Later on.
