Groovebox & Bryan Cox – Drop You (Original Mix) [100% PURE]

Groovebox’s fresh “California EP” just dropped on 100% Pure Records on Monday. He teamed with Bryan Cox to deliver some OG summer fire in the likes of ‘Drop You,’ the second track off of the EP. ‘Drop You’ will drop you once the vocals kick in. This is the most fun track I’ve heard in a while. ‘Drop You’ is a true summer anthem.

Jazzy Jeff Boiler Room London DJ Set (April 2014)

Back in April, Jazzy Jeff stopped by the Boiler Room in London to spin an exclusive DJ set. One of the most important DJs in the game, there’s always surprises with Jazzy Jeff. His accomplishments extend well beyond his status. Jazzy Jeff is regarded as a pioneering turntable tactician for his well-honed skills, and for his development of the transformer scratch.   For 70 minutes, Jazzy Jeff put on an old school clinic. Check out the tracklist. Your mind will be blown.

Old School Fire:Tomaz & Filterheadz – Sunshine (Original Mix) [INTEC, 1605]

Back in 2002, ‘Sunshine’ ran the game. The vocals, the drums, and the percussion STILL run the game. ‘Sunshine’ received a bunch of remixes from UMEK, Uto Karem, Filthy Rich, D.Ramirez and more. Filterheadz even delivered a high-octane 2012 remix. I heard the Uto Karem remix in almost every Carl Cox live set from 2012-2013. ‘Sunshine’ will continue to stand the test of time. Soak it in.

dubspeeka – Turn (Ramon Tapia Bou Bou Mix) [EVOLUTION]

Turn down for what? Ramon Tapia takes dubspeeka’s ‘Turn’ and dubs it out just a bit by employing a groove that’s not afraid to get lazy. Relying on the repetitive pads of of the original, Tapia’s rendition unfolds seamlessly, with subtle hats providing the momentum, while the main synth maximizes the effect.
