Lazy NFL Opening Day 2014 Playlist

NFL SUNDAY FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY! Everything is right with the world. Nothing can go wrong when there’s football to watch on Sunday afternoons.

To help set the tone for this glorious day, this 15-track playlist will serve as the perfect condiment for your BBQ or couch snack binge. In the words of the great Chris Berman, “HE. COULD. GO. ALL. THE. WAY……….TOUCHDOWN!”

LAZY NFL OPENING DAY 2014 PLAYLIST

CLS – Can You Feel It (Prok & Fitch Remix) [STRICTLY RHYTHM]

“CANNNN YOUUU FEELLL ITTTT!?” You’re damn right we can.

Pablo Valentino – One (Detroit Swindle Perspective) [ROOM WITH A VIEW]

Detroit Swindle has been a staple of mine this past week. If you haven’t checked these guys out before, get up on it.

Jaceo – 69 [WITTY TUNES]

“How would you like it if I hit you with a 69….oh yeahhh?” “Tell me whatcha gonna do?” VIBES ON VIBES ON VIBES. Jaceo keeps getting it done.

Doug English – Hood Life [PERFECT DRIVER]

“The hood baby….I’m from the hood.” Gangster House, or G-House, has been my new genre to explore lately. Absolutely on-point genre.

MK – Always (Shiba San Remix) [DEFECTED]

Shiba San is nice. Real nice. Best remix of MK’s “Always’ by far. No contest.

Deadmau5 – Tau V2 [PLAY]   **Old School Fire**

I am a huge fan of deadmau5’s recent techno push, and I feel that he continue to stick with it, and that alone. But, you can’t forget his classics. “Tau V2” always gets it in.

Peppelino – Mustard [DYNAMO]

Yes, there is a wild “producer – track name” combo going on here, but Peppelino delivered the mustard. I first heard this in UMEK’s Daycation Festival 2014 set, and couldn’t wait to track down the proper ID. Well worth it.

Jey Kurmis – Lover [HOT CREATIONS]

This is a random track that I came across on YouTube. Been a staple of mine the past few weeks now. Enjoy this one.

UMEK – Luftmensch [SPINNIN]

UMEK’s fourth album “Rhythmia” is out now, and it showcases the Slovenian born producer’s versatility. UMEK took this album in different directions with each track on the album. “Luftmensch” serves as my favorite track from the album, and is out on Spinnin’ Records.

Justin Martin –  Buggin [DIRTYBIRD]

I hit up a bunch of old dirtybird tracks before I complied this playlist, and I couldn’t help but take notice to Justin Martin’s “Buggin.” “Buggin” is off of the Dirtybird BBQ compilation, and samples “Buggin’ Out” from A Tribe Called Quest. Evolutionary track here. Justin Martin is an animal. You will love this track. I guarantee it.

Tiga – Bugatti [TURBO]

“Girl comes up to me and says “What you driving?” I said “Bugatti.”” This track is everything that is right with the world. Tiga won the Super Bowl with this track.

Loco Dice – Pimp Jackson Is Talkin’ Now!!! (Luci Gets Loco Remix By Luciano) [DESOLAT]

This track really is pimp. Most random track that I’ve ever heard, but it slays. I can’t help but think about The Ladies Man whenever I put this on.

Mark Knight – In And Out (Original Club Mix) [TOOLROOM]

One of the top tracks from this summer, no question. Mark Knight continues to find a way to stay relevant and produce evolutionary, feel-good music. Mad respect for Mark Knight.

Route 94 – My Love [RINSE]

Well now….what do we have here?

Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwoʻole – Somewhere over the Rainbow   **Reggae Revival**

There’s just no better way to end this week’s playlist than with one of the saddest songs of all-time. IZ’s death in 1997 hit the world really hard, and this track serves as a reminder to just how kind and gentle this man was during his waking hours.
