Peter Gelderblom & Randy Colle - Got To Be Good [Tiger Records]
Duke Dumont has been dropping this bomb in most of his recent sets lately. "Got To Be Good" reminds me so much of Mark Knight's remix of Chris Malinchak's "If U Got It."
Dusky – Akebono [17 Steps]
Fresh heat from Dusky is always a win. "Akebono" just solidifies that I strongly feel Dusky has put forth the best production in 2014. No string of releases has compared to the depth and quality of "Love Taking Over", "Inta", "Expectations", "4T4", "Yoohoo", and "Akebono".
Boris – Don't You Know [Suara]
A part of Suara's successful compilation series, "Kitties Wanna Dance," Vol. 4 featured "Don't You Know" from Boris, which packs the punch and edge that has helped supplant the Suara label to the masses.
Duke Dumont – Live @ Escape All Hallows Eve (California, USA) – 01.11.2014
Duke Dumont played arguably the best set at Escape All Hallows Eve in San Bernardino, CA over Halloween Weekend. Unfortunately, the tracklist available online is not put together well enough for me to include, but I promise you that the entire set is worth your time and then some.
Old School Fire: Roman Flugel – More & More & More [Clone Records]
Roman Flugel's debut on Clone Records back in 2013 was a funky dance floor groove that gained support from the likes of Carl Cox, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and more.
Amine Edge & DANCE – I'ma Read That Bitch [CUFF]
I've NEVER heard more off the wall vocal samples used in a track before like Amine Edge & DANCE's "I'ma Read That Bitch." I just don't know how these guys came up with these ideas. "I'mma take that bitch to college....I'mma give that bitch some knowledge." It's funny because this is one of my favorite tracks at the moment.
Sidney Charles – Ruffline [8Bit]
Topping Resident Advisor's Top 100 Most Charted Artists of 2013, Sidney Charles delivered with hits such as "I Need" and "Ruffline". "Ruffline" is a balearic funky disco house track that sports vocal samples from NWA's "Compton's N The House" and Eazy-E's "Eazy-Duz-It." It sounds like there's an Al Green sample in there as well.
Nick Curly – Crossroads [Trusoul Records]
Nick Curly recently dropped his Trust EP on Trusoul Records, which showcases his three freshest singles. "Crossroads" is my favorite one, utilizing a delicate melody under-lined with lashings of driving drums.
Sunday School Sessions: Episode 016 | Vanjee b2b Nadav Vee
Last week's episode of the Sunday School Sessions showcase series highlighted an exclusive mix from Vanjee b2b Nadav Vee, recorded live from Space Ibiza NY. The tech house selections are unbelievable, and truly capture that Lazy Sundays vibe. Dig in to this free download.
Gorgon City – Ready For Your Love (ft. Mnek) [Virgin EMI Records]
"Ready For Your Love" has played a special role in my life as of late. Gorgon City really hit their stride with this release. I've grown fond of their sets recently.
