Calvin Harris Nominated for ‘Feel So Close’ VMA
Leading into Chicago’s Lollapalooza weekend—where he is set to perform at one of America’s biggest and most beloved music festivals—comes the news that international hit songwriter and producer CALVIN HARRIS has been nominated for an MTV Video Music Award (“Best Electronic Dance Music Video”) for his platinum single “Feel So Close” (Ultra Music). Videos for HARRIS’ other songwriting hits have received five VMA nominations for “Video Of The Year,” “Best Female Video” and “Best Pop Video” for “We Found Love” with Rihanna (which has sold over 4,560,047 copies in the U.S. to date) and “Best Choreography” and “Best Visual Effects” for her “Where Have You Been.”
“Feel So Close,” currently Top 10 Pop at U.S. radio, is indie meets dance with the usual catchy hit factor of a CALVIN HARRIS single. Helmed by his unassuming vocal, the track has an anthemic euphoria in its feel-good chorus and echoing guitars. The video–shot beautifully in Nevada by Vincent Haycock who also directed the clip for HARRIS’ other smash “Bounce” with Kelis–is a rollercoaster of happy emotions.

Meanwhile, HARRIS’ other radio smash single “Let’s Go” featuring Ne-Yo, available now on Ultra Music, is sizzling in rotation on over 200 multi format radio stations across the country including Z100, WKTU, Now 92.3 in New York and KIIS, Power106 and AMP Radio in Los Angeles. It’s currently charting at #22 Top Songs at iTunes, #17 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Mixshow chart. Propelled by HARRIS’ synths paired with Ne-Yo’s vocals, this gorgeously bouncy electro-house track is featured in PEPSI’s national TV ad campaign and is supported by a video captured in locations around the globe, highlighting the optimistic spirit of the track.
