Jessie Andrews: Your Favorite Pornstar… And DJ?
Adult film stars and DJing go hand-in-hand like peanut butter and jelly, right? Well, with A-list adult film stars like Sasha Grey and Jessie Andrews hitting the decks, this phrase may be beginning to become true. Jessie Andrews, a bubbly blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl next door from Miami was just 17 when approached to do porn after working in (and later modeling for) an American Apparel store years ago. Since then, she’s starred in numerous adult films, modeled in advertisement campaigns for major clothing brands, created a successful handmade jewelry line, and has been heating up the DJ world- popping up in clubs and festivals around the country.
My fascination with Jessie Andrews began about a year ago when I heard about her jewelry line and later read a VICE article about her multi-industry takeover. Good friends with Skrillex, AC Slater, 12th Planet, Borgore and Brazzabelle (just to name a few), Jessie constantly is surrounding herself with amazing DJ talent and has truly learned from the best. In addition to hanging out with some pretty awesome company, Jessie has been touring around the US and Canada, remixing top artists to the delight of house music fans alike.
Duke Dumont – Need U feat. A*M*E (Jessie Andrews Remix)
I Met You – Anna Lunoe & Flume (Jessie Andrews Remix)
Of the Jessie Andrews remixes I’ve heard, the two above are definitely some of my favorites. The more I’ve listened and explored her music via Soundcloud and iTunes, I began to see her as an adult film star turned DJ and jewelry designer, but rather as an extremely smart businesswoman. In my eyes, Jessie has branded herself in such a way that has truly made her a jack of all trades.
Drake – Too Much (Jessie Andrews & Jason Burns Remix)
Jessie’s music offers and upbeat, nu-disco/house feel, which I find to be the perfect summertime genre whilst barbecuing or lounging by the pool. Despite enjoying her music in the comfort of my own bedroom, I bet that hearing a live set of hers in a club setting would prove to be a great experience. And, speaking of club appearances, be sure to catch Jessie on July 31st when she visits Seattle’s Q Nightclub.
