New Deadmau5 Tracks Released

In his regular quirky style Joel Zimmerman, aka Deadmau5, recently released several oddly titled tracks via Twitter and SoundCloud. After nearly a month absent from SoundCloud, the Canadian DJ delivers a really unique blend of sounds.

The first track titled ‘coelacanth’ is named after the ancient and endangered order of fish found in the West Indian Ocean. The track begins with a long mellow introduction, abruptly entering into steady percussion beats. The beats are softened and the intro crescendo begins again, followed by the percussion once more.

Fck A Coelacanth

The second released track is titled ‘fck a coelacanth’ perhaps named for Zimmerman’s plea to save the endangered fish. The track is mixed with high and mid tones set to a steady beat.

My Pet Coelacanth

The third track, ‘My Pet Coelacanth,’ embodies sounds from the previous two tracks, introducing new higher and lower tones and also adding more percussion, some of which enters off beat.

Infra Super Turbo Pig Cart Racer

The fourth new release is titled ‘Infra Super Turbo Pig Cart Racer.’ Your guess is as good as mine with what that means, or how he even thought of it. This track has you alert from the beginning. It’s incredible fast-paced, bringing in sounds of a car racing (perhaps motivated by Zimmerman’s recent purchase of a brand new white Ferrari)

The final track released titled ‘Mercedes,’ could easily be placed into the Tron soundtrack by Daft Punk.
