It's rare when I comb through the morning's top SoundCloud links for the day and find a track I really, really love that hasn't been covered by every single EDM blog in the world. As journalists, we receive press releases for the day's hottest new releases and jump on them immediately.
So, as you can imagine, when I stumbled upon UK producers Forma
and Electric Joy Ride's
new collab Dropouts
and their latest single "Let Go," I was dumbfounded that I hadn't been seeing it on the headlines of our competitors and fellow EDM connoisseurs' headlines.
I'm always on the lookout for great new progressive house and electro house that doesn't...well, that doesn't sound like shit. To be honest, I generally stay away from posting tracks in these genres, because I find that after a while it all starts to blend together and sound like the same 128 BPM junk
"Let Go" is an incredibly smooth and melodic track, and is the brainchild of up-and-coming UK producer Forma and Jonny Thomson (also known as Electric Joy Ride). In this new collab, we can distinctly hear the flowy feel-good vibes that EJR puts into all of his music, along with the intensity that comes from many of Forma's progressive house and DnB remixes that have included the likes of Zedd, Krewella and more.
The track started out purely as a one time thing, but the two enjoyed the way they worked together so much that they've formed Dropout
while they also continue their solo endeavors. Turn this on during a sunny summer afternoon and I dare you not to smile.
What do you think of the track? Let us know!
